According to Professor Gail Kinman of the University of Bedfordshire: “Nomophobia can drive individuals to become preoccupied with their phone and turn to it if they are depressed, anxious, and lonely. This is especially true for individuals with pre-existing anxiety, who may equate their phones with a comfort blanket.

What is Nomophobia?

The simple answer is No-mobile-phone phobia. Fear of losing mobile or losing network is Nomophobia.

Shambare, Rugimbana & Zhowa claimed that cell phones are "possibly the biggest non-drug addiction of the 21st century".

3. Have no network coverage

The study of 2,163 people found that about 58% of men and 47% of women suffer from the phobia. 9% feel stressed when their mobile phones are off.

Another survey conducted by SecurEnvoy showed that 77% of the teens reported anxiety and worries when they were without their mobile phones.
