December 1984, North Hollywood, California, Jaime Shandera received a package with no return address and an Albuquerque postmark.
What was in the package?
A roll of 35mm film. The film contained eight pages of an alleged briefing paper from November 18, 1952.
What was in the pages?
News of the recovery of the remains of two crashed spaceships. In the first crash in July 1947, authorities recovered the bodies of four humanoid beings.
The pages also indicated a copy of actual executive order by President Harry Truman authorising the creation of a secret group called "Majestic 12" (MJ-12) to study the remains.
Shandera and William Moore searched the National Archives looking for any references of MJ-12 in official documents. They found a 1954 memo from Gen. Robert Cutler, referring to an MJ-12 Special Studies Project to be held at the White House on the 16th of that month.
In 1987, British writer Timothy Good received a copy of MJ-12 document from an unknown individual. Moore and Shandera released their copy causing a massive uproar, huge media coverage, an FBI investigation and controversy that continues to go on.
Most investigators agreed that the MJ-12 document is a forgery but the identity of the forger remains a deep mystery. The forger perhaps had access to official information which was not even in the public record. It lead to suspicions that an intelligence agency created the document for disinformation purposes.
An anonymous author on a conspiracy site stated MJ-12 as a secret government committee working for arrangement of a one world government in which the planet would jointly be ruled by human and extraterrestrial elites.
Conspiracy suggests that MJ-12 somehow made contact with the aliens and brokered a meeting. That resulted in a deal in which the U.S. government got extraterrestrial technology.
