Who hosted $50 Million USD Tour?

We are often amazed by the expensive purchases or events by wealthy people’s around the world. The Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, is often known for his expensive expenses.

His expenses includes:

$500 million yacht

$300 million French chateau

$450 million Leonardo da Vinci painting.

And today let’s hear about his one tour that costed $50 million dollars.


Where was the tour arranged?

It was in the popular holiday destination, the Maldives. Velaa Private Island and Cheval Blanc Randheli, two expensive islands were used by the guests.


Who were invited?

Apart from Prince’s high profile guests, celebrity Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, South Korean superstar Psy, DJ Afrojack, Shakira and many more were thought to be present there.


“Blood and Oil: Mohammed bin Salman’s Ruthless Quest for Global Power” is a book wrote by Bradley Hope and Justin Scheck. They wrote about MBS and here are some claims from them about the tour:


“It was a vacation fit for a prince.”


“The cost was a whopping $50 million.”


Each of the resort’s staffers got a $5,000 bonus on top of cash tips. Those same workers usual salary is just $1,000 to $1,200 a month.


To ensure secrecy and privacy the staffs were not allowed to bring smartphones on the island. They could only bring devices like Nokia 3310 for communication purposes. There was also an incident of rule breaking and caused two staffs work loss.


They wrote that 150 beautiful women were brought from Brazil, Russia and elsewhere in the Maldives to party with just some men of the Middle East. According to them, the women were tested for STDs. 

The authors wrote: “Only after the testing was done and the women had settled into their villas did the seaplanes carrying Mohammed bin Salman and his friends arrive.”


According to them, One night MBS got so excited during a performance that he climbed on stage. According to the book, “The men and models cheered when Mohammed took over the DJ table and started playing records of his choice while Afrojack skulked away muttering, careful to curse out loud only when he was out of the prince’s earshot.”

Island Velaa is a private island in the Maldives is which is “designed to be one of the world’s most luxurious and expensive destinations” was the primary destination.


According to trip advisor, Velaa Private Island has:

43 private villas

2 four bedroom residences offering outdoor space and private pool

18 villas, built over water

Romantic Villa, the only exclusive villa that is reached by boat.

4-bedroom residences which can accommodate up to 10 people. It has 1,350 SQM of interior and exterior space including 2 terraces, a pool and a courtyard. 

Velaa Private Island has the culinary consultancy of Michelin star chef Adeline Grattard from Paris and there are 3 restaurants.

The spa has the first 'snow room' in the Maldives and comprises six treatment rooms.


Cheval Blanc Randheli is a island with 46 villa Maison.
